Millipore Sigma, one of many largest suppliers of medical analysis merchandise, will begin including a brief tariff surcharge to all product orders shipped to the US.
The corporate, which sells a wide selection of things from chemical reagents to centrifuges and syringe filters, defined in a letter to prospects that the brand new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration are “impacting our operations,” which embody manufacturing and procurement prices. And the surcharge, which can take impact Monday, will seem as a separate line merchandise on quotes and invoices.
The surcharge is in lieu of a tariff pass-through and is designed to guard prospects from “experiencing the complete influence of the broad tariff charges, a few of that are very excessive. By leveraging a surcharge, we retain flexibility to regulate or take away the surcharge if the state of affairs adjustments within the coming weeks or months,” Millipore executives wrote to prospects.
